4 Soccer Dribbling Trainings
I use these 4 soccer dribbling trainings as part of my pre-season warm-up and technical training. I usually do this for about 15 minutes and this really works to build touches on the ball, increase muscle memory, but also train the fitness element of the sport.
You can do this soccer dribbling training as part of a team element as shown below:
Or on your own as a single soccer dribbling training:
The key components here are the lateral movement and then the explosion out of the gates and at angles. We want to make sure that we get in the habit during soccer dribbling training of after we beat defenders, that we go to the right or left staying away from the off balanced defender to ensure our safe passage.
When I talk about the explosion, make sure that when you come out of the slalom that there is a definite change of pace to fully take advantage of the situation you've created with the lateral movement.
The side to side movement is what gets the defender shifting to the left and right.
Soccer Dribbling Trainings:
1. Right Foot Only- Inside,Inside,Outside, Outside-Explode to the right
2. Left Foot Only-Inside,Inside,Outside, Outside-Explode to the left
3. Both Feet- Inside Right, Outside Left, Inside Left, Outside Right-Explode to the Right
4. Both Feet- Inside Right, Outside Left, Inside Left, Outside Right-Explode to the Left
This is a training that I would do for 3-4 minutes if I were doing this in a team setting. If I was doing this individually, you will want to go about 10 reps on each, so that should take you about 10-15 minutes. I've found that biting off small amounts of training at one time, in addition to doing different speed and agility components, shooting, etc helps to keep your workout fresh and gives you the best results.
